ATTENTION RACERS AND SPECTATORS
We have determined the Iron Dog Big Lake start race route to the river.
After careful consideration of all of the trails leaving Big Lake we have found that leaving out the Cow Lake Trail is the Safest, Fastest way to the river.
We will be traveling on Trail 1 to Trail 5 to Trail 6 then straight to Trail 9 to Cow Lake to Red Shirt Lake to Steve’s Trail to Bid Swamp to The River. This is an established trail that has been used for years by Iron Dog race participants.
We will be putting our EXPRESS CHECKPOINT AT THE NORTH END OF COW LAKE to ensure that all race participants are checked and get to the Big Swamp safely.
CAUTION
With the growth of the Iron Dog we must always take into consideration the safety of our racers and spectators that are along the trail in our heavily populated areas such as the start out of Big Lake and the finish in Fairbanks.
